You will also work with a variety of professionals to ensure an improved national response to high risk missing persons by working with agencies involved in responding to a disappearance to work better together to improve referral process, response rates and awareness
Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 per annum
Hours: 30 per week, majority will be out of office hour's work with regular travel will be required, including overnight stays
Holiday: 25 days pro rata plus statutory holidays
Location: Home-based in the Midlands area - the successful candidate will, ideally, live within a commutable distance of a mainline rail station due to the operational/travel requirements for this position
Contract: 2 Year fixed term contract until end March 2020

Our Vision is that every missing person is found safe.
We are a non-judgemental, highly skilled team of staff and volunteers working around the clock for everyone who needs us. We provide free 24 hour confidential support, help, advice by phone, email, text and online, including the opportunity to reconnect. We also coordinate a UK wide network of people, businesses and media to join the search for the estimated 250,000 people who go missing each year.

Missing People and Lowland Rescue, in partnership, have been awarded £1million by People’s Postcode Lottery Dream Fund to develop our Search Dog Heroes project. The project will deliver awareness to thousands of families whose loved-ones are living with dementia, special educational needs or mental health problems; all of which are linked with high risk disappearances. In addition, the project will see the training and deployment of 100 new search dogs, some of whom will be ground-scenting dogs who can find a missing person quickly using articles of scent. This role will be responsible for leading Missing People and Lowland Rescue’s Search Dog Heroes project funded by Dream Fund, People’s Postcode Lottery.

Development and Partnerships
This department is responsible for leading the development of partnerships which help us to reach and support children and adults who go missing and their loved-ones left behind. Partners include police forces, local authorities, charities and other organisations who work with or are affected by missing people. The team also develops and delivers commissioned services, including Return Home Interview services and training for professionals. Using the charity’s specialist knowledge, developed over more than two decades, this team leads the piloting of new services to be a lifeline when someone disappears.
