Student Enquiries
Can students help the charity Missing People?
Yes. Students of all ages can help the charity in a variety of ways. To organise a fundraising event at your school, college or university click here to download a pack full of ideas.
If your school, college or university wish to display posters promoting our services for runaways and missing adults please see question three.
If you are a student aged 18 or over, then you can also volunteer for Missing People, Click here to see a list of the volunteering opportunities we currently have. There may also be occasional opportunities for post graduate students to gain research experience by volunteering with the Policy and Research team at Missing People. To find out more email volunteer@missingpeople.org.uk.
Can the charity Missing People help me with my research?
Yes. The charity Missing People has a wealth of information available on its website about the issue for missing and our work.
Please click here to access our Policy & Research area with the latest stats and facts.
You should also click here to find links to other organisations dealing with aspects of the missing issues in the UK and internationally.
If you are writing a thesis or dissertation on ‘missing’ the charity Missing People would be delighted to receive an electronic copy but cannot guarantee to provide feedback. Please email student@missingpeople.org.uk.
Can the charity Missing People provide me with marketing materials to display?
Yes. The charity can provide limited numbers of posters and leaflets about our services for students or teachers to display/handout. Please email your full name, address and contact number to marketing@missingpeople.org.uk with your request.
NB: Unless you clearly state otherwise, Missing People may use contact details provided to keep you updated on our work.
Can a Missing People representative help me with a recorded interview for a project?
Yes. In most cases Missing People can provide a spokesperson providing that a full list of questions is submitted in the first instance. Please note Missing People may decline requests due to resources or if we deem the nature of the questions to be outside of our remit.
Please email:student@missingpeople.org.uk with your request, questions and full contact details.
Can Missing People help me to arrange access to research participants?
Any researcher (or research student) from outside the charity who wishes to arrange to contact research participants must adhere to Missing People Research Procedures. For details of these procedures, and of our ethical review process, please contact policyandresearch@missingpeople.org.uk
Can the charity Missing People help me with case studies?
No. We aim to publicise missing people through established media channels and some families of the missing find the use of images of their loved ones outside of this publicity upsetting.
NB: Missing People politely requests that you do not ‘cut and paste’ images or descriptions of missing or unidentified people from our website.
