The Missing People Choir is made up of people with missing loved ones, alongside staff and supporters of the charity Missing People, and is run in partnership with James Hawkins Music.

The choir was set up in 2014 by James Hawkins and Clare Cook from the charity Missing People with aim of bringing families with missing loved ones together together and using music to help express emotions and reach out with their message of hope and loss.

Lead by musical director James, the choir reached a global audience last year, causing an internet sensation when they auditioned for ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent.

Their moving performance of the song ‘I Miss You’ which they performed while appeals for their missing loved ones ran on screen behind them, caused Simon Cowell to exclaim ‘What a brilliant idea!” and and fellow judge Amanda Holden to tell them “You did yourself proud”. They went on to reach the finals of ITV’s talent competition, and the awareness raised by their performance was responsible for bringing a number of missing home.

The choir meets on a monthly basis in central London and is open to anyone who has experienced a family member go missing. If you would be interested in joining please This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
