On 10 March, Missing People’s Chief Executive Martin Houghton-Brown will talk at the “Missing from Care” experts conference in Budapest, Hungary.
The event will be a follow up to the conference “Vulnerable Children on the Run: A European Challenge” held in Brussels, in November 2010, at which Houghton-Brown gave the keynote address.
The Brussels conference, with the support of the Belgian Presidency of the EU, compiled a list of recommendations aimed at national decision-makers concerning the issue of children running away, and participants of the “Missing from Care” conference will attempt to further specify these recommendations.
In order to ensure a realistic and balanced view on the phenomenon, young people, formerly in care and currently still living in “after-care,” are also invited to the conference, both as speakers and participants.
