Volunteer role: ‘Join the Search’ group volunteering – Yorkshire Team: Local Areas Program Location: Community based activities in Yorkshire and working from home. Time commitment: The specific nature of the role will affect the hours worked and will be discussed at interview. These will be different for each volunteer and will depend on the type of event you want to organise. Purpose: To work in a team with your friends, guided by your Local Coordinator, to raise funds and awareness for Missing People. This might involve organizing an event, getting sponsored to do something challenging or different together or anything else your imaginations come up with! Dependent on your group’s skills and experience activities may include: Organising and supporting a local event that raises money and awareness for Missing People Organising ongoing activities that raise money and awareness for Missing People Recruiting new volunteers and working with the existing volunteer team Supporting Missing People’s work at our own and partners’ events Supporting your Local Coordinator as requested to help increase support for Missing People
Skills and experience: As a group, to have or be able to demonstrate potential for: Some fundraising experience – either organising fundraising activities or participating yourselves Good communication skills, both verbal and written Strong organisational skills and good time management Competence using computers, Microsoft Office, internet, e-mail The ability to inspire and motivate others and be passionate about supporting missing people and their families
Training: All necessary training will be provided by your Local Coordinator Support: You will be supported in your role by your Local Coordinator, with additional support when necessary from central office.
Next steps: Each person in your group needs to complete an application form As a group, attend an interview with your Local Coordinator, where you will present your idea If successful, with the support of your Local Coordinator, make your idea happen
