Runaway Helpline is a confidential service and we cannot trace your calls, texts or emails. We won’t know who or where you are unless you want to tell us.

We always work with you to try and get you the help that you need. That’s what we’re here for. We will give you time to talk through your situation; explain the options that are available and then discuss what help you would like us to give to you.

We’ll only ask for your details once you’ve agreed to help.

If you decide not to let us help you but you’ve told us where you are and we believe you are at risk of serious harm, we may need to let someone know. In this situation, we will always try to tell you that we are going to share anything you’ve told us with someone outside of Runaway Helpline.

If you have any concerns about confidentiality, just ask the Helpline Worker at the beginning of your contact with us. Please remember that our policy applies to contacts via phone, email and text.
