Unknown Next of Kin
In some cases of individuals in hospital or care, their next of kin may not easily be found. If the individual's identity is known Missing People can check their national database to see if they have been reported missing by relatives, potentially enabling contact to be established.
If not, the individual can be registered on the database in case a relative searches for them in the future.
What to do next? - Checklist
Inform Missing People of the individual including:
- Full name
- Date of birth
- Brief circumstances (including state of health)
- Last known address
- Full contact details for record holder (e.g. the relevant nurse/doctor dealing with the patient and the ward and hospital)
