Here is a list of projects who work with young people who have run away. They may be able to help you. All of these projects are self referral , which means you can contact them directly and ask for their help.

East England
There are currently no referral projects working in this area.
East Midlands
Home and Away (NSPCC)
Home and Away (NSPCC) works with young people who have recently run away from home. Takes self-referrals from young people when they have run away from home or after they have been reported missing and returned home. The service is targeted at the early incidents of young people going missing. Phones are staffed 9-5pm Mon-Fri or you can leave a message and they will get back to them.

Derby Runaways Project offers support for under 16s who have runaway or are at risk of running away from home or care.

London Refuge
The London Refuge is a project in partnership with the NSPCC that provides accommodation for young people who have run away aged 11-18. It has six bed spaces and is open 24 hrs a day.

Barnardos Young Women's Service
Barnardos Young Women's Service aims to give female runaways (12-16) missing from home or care, living in the borough of Camden, the opportunity to talk to someone independent about the reasons for going missing in a confidential setting.

Orchard Lane
Orchard Lane is a Freefone helpline giving help and support to young people (10-16 yrs) who are thinking of or who have run away, and help them to find somewhere safe to stay or someone to talk to.

Justice Support Project
Justice Support Project is a multi-agency referral system for young runaways. It offers mentoring, strategies to cope and intensive support for those aged 8-18yrs.

NCH Liverpool Young Runaways
NCH Liverpool Young Runaways is a joint project between the NCH and the local authority. The project provides support and advice to children who have run away in the Liverpool area as well as working with parents and carers.

Talk Don't Walk is a confidential helpline service, advice via text/webchat/email to young people in the Warrington area. They also offer face to face discussions with children and parents to resolve issues causing a child to run away.

Barnardos Young Runaways Service aims to help young people under 16 who have, or are thinking about, running away from home. The service seeks to prevent young people from coming to harm and to help them find other solutions to their problems. Young people can leave message on or text the above number and they will get back within 2 working days.

Streetwork - Runaways Action Programme offers advice and support for young people, before, during and after running away from home or care. They also offer youth work and outreach, as well as one-to-one support for young runaways.
