If you want to carry out your own research into missing, or connect with other researchers working on missing, we can help.
Missing People is keen to promote collaboration between researchers working in the field of missing persons. There are a number of ways for researchers and research teams to connect with one another, and to reach out to practitioners for collaboration, participation and dissemination.
Missing People administers a JISCmail mailing list called MISSING PERSONS. JISCmail is an academic mailing list service which allows researchers with a common interest to communicate with colleagues in other institutions. The MISSING PERSONS list has been operating for nearly four years and now has over 70 subscribers from at least five countries.
Centre for the Study of Missing Persons
The Centre for the Study of Missing Persons is a dedicated research centre at the University of Portsmouth, focussed on exploring issues related to missing. Missing People’s Chief Executive, Jo Youle, said "The charity Missing People is delighted to be working in partnership with the CSMP. Research is vital for developing understanding of the experiences of missing people and their families, and for identifying gaps in provision. We believe that this partnership will provide insight into what more can be done to safeguard, support and reconnect missing people".
