Star Fundraisers

Alison and her son Jasper planned to run the Westminster 10K to raise funds for Missing People after Jasper decided he wanted to help” families who are suffering from having a missing person or a missing person who has been lost in the family”. Due to circumstances beyond their control they were not able to take part. However they did not let this defeat them not wanting to let their supports or Missing People down they decided to run their first Park Run on  the 29 July which they completed and raised a brilliant £480.

Fundraising Guidelines

Permissions - Fundraisers and organisations planning an event must ensure that any required permissions or licences are obtained from the local authority or other relevant bodies.

Insurance - When fundraising or organising an event in public, fundraisers must ensure there is sufficient third party public liability cover in place. Most venues or councils will cover this, so please check with them whilst in the initial planning.

Health and safety - Fundraisers must carry out a risk assessment where it is reasonable to do so before undertaking an event of any size. If working with a third party or within a company, check who is responsible for this. Download our risk assessment form.

Food and Alcohol - Please take great care when handling food and work to basic rules for safe preparation, storage, display and cooking. If you are selling/providing alcohol in public, the relevant licences/permissions may be in needed and age limits must be adhered to.

Collections - Always collect cash in a secure container e.g. a sealed tin, buckets or a secure cash box for change. Please do not collect money door to door; this is illegal without a licence.

Children and Fundraising – if you are under the age of 18 please make sure that you have written consent from a parent or guardian to fundraise for Missing People
