If your child went missing, wouldn’t you want the whole world to stop and look? And wouldn’t your colleagues feel the same?
Child Rescue Alert is a nationwide system, run by the National Crime Agency, the charity Missing People and technology company Groupcall which has the potential to save a child’s life in the event that a child is missing and believed to be at imminent risk of serious harm or death. Registration is free and will take your employees just minutes to complete, online or by text.
Six simple ways your force can engage with the Child Rescue Alert campaign in February 2016
1. Register your force mobile numbers to receive Child Rescue Alert
Join other forces around the country and register all mobile phones operated by your force to receive Child Rescue Alerts. The Child Rescue Alert operational team can bulk-upload this data for you. Committing each member of the force with a work mobile to receiving alerts will make a great announcement for your press office during the Child Rescue Alert campaign.
2. Download a Child Rescue Alert API for your force website
The Child Rescue Alert API can be simply added to your force website (both external and internal) and will allow visitors to register to receive alerts without leaving your site. This API is perfect to add to a page that has information about what a Child Rescue Alert is and the benefits of registering to the community.
Encourage your colleagues to register to receive Child Rescue Alerts via your intranet, newsletter and email network by announcing your force's support of the system.
We want you to help us make support of Child Rescue Alert a standard of best practice across the UK. By announcing your force’s support of Child Rescue Alert through your social media, press releases or website, as a trusted voice in your local community, you can help us encourage more people to register. Don’t forget to join us on Twitter @CRAlerts and www.facebook.com/CRAlerts
Tell all your contacts that your force supports Child Rescue Alert and encourage others to sign up to the system at the same time by changing the company email signature during the Child Rescue Alert campaign from 15-28 February.
