Please be aware that Missing People is a confidential service and the team can’t trace your calls. We won’t know who or where you are unless you want to tell us.

We are, however, able to trace your texts and emails, but we will only do this if we are concerned you are at risk from harm. We will also let you know what  we're doing and what might happen.

We always work with you, to try and get you the help that you need. That’s what we’re here for. We will give you time to talk through your situation, explain the options that are available to you and then discuss what help you would like us to give to you.

If you decide not to let us help you but you have told us where you are and we believe you are at risk of serious harm, we may need to let someone know. In this situation, we will always try to tell you that we are going to share something you’ve told us with someone outside of Missing People.

This policy applies whether you contact Missing People by telephone, text or email.

If you have any questions about our confidentiality policy, you can ask a member of our helpline team by calling or texting 116 000, or by emailing: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
