Are you in danger?

If you are leaving to escape an unsafe situation at home you can contact the police who will ensure you have the support and protection you need. It is important to know that the police will not be able to collect items you’ve left behind, but will accompany you back to your residence if you ask them to. If you want help contacting the police or want to talk things through you can contact Missing People on 116 000.

Do you have somewhere safe to go?

Before leaving, think about where you might stay in the short and longer term and whether it is a safe place for you to go. There may be reasons why you might not be able to return to your home at a later date (if it is rented or a housing association property). [link to more information]
