We are specialists in supporting missing people and their families while someone is missing and on the management of the return, including return home interviews, prevention work and advocacy.

We are able to provide a national perspective on our experience of working with professionals across the UK to draw upon recognised good practice and deliver up-to-date awareness training.

At Missing People, we use our skills to provide tailor-made innovative training packages to police, social services and third sector professionals on how to support, safeguard and reconnect young people and adults who go missing and their loved ones left behind. Therefore, you are invited to join our 3.5 hour training course for just £60.

Working with Missing Children – Communication and Inter-personal skills to engage young people

This is an opportunity for you to build on existing communication and inter-personal skills to effectively work with young people -

  • To learn about communicating with missing and runaway young people (with a focus on return home interviews and prevention interviews)

  • To demonstrate active listening skills during conversations with missing young people

  • To understand how challenging it is for a child who has been missing to disclose and how to minimise the challenge in a supportive manner

  • Learn about the tools and tactics for working with missing children and their families and what help is available including referring missing children and their families to Missing People’s services

We are able to provide a national perspective on our experience of working with professionals across the UK to draw upon nationally recognised good practice and deliver up-to-date awareness of new and evolving threats to the most vulnerable people to ensure that selected trainees are trained to provide victims with a variety of practical and support options via communication tools and return home interviews.

Police officers, Social Workers, Support Workers, Voluntary sector (anyone working face to face with vulnerable missing children)
