We are specialists in supporting missing people and their families while someone is missing and on the management of the return, including return home interviews, prevention work and advocacy.

We are able to provide a national perspective on our experience of working with professionals across the UK to draw upon recognised good practice and deliver up-to-date awareness training.

At Missing People, we use our skills to provide tailor-made innovative training packages to police, social services and third sector professionals on how to support, safeguard and reconnect young people and adults who go missing and their loved ones left behind. Therefore, you are invited to join our 3.5 hour training course for just £60.

Course details

Ambiguous Loss: Supporting the families of missing people to -

Develop self-awareness around the impact of someone going missing

Apply active listening techniques when talking to family members about their emotions

Explain the emotional impact of someone’s family member going missing

Understand the theory of Ambiguous Loss and how it sits with other theories of loss

Explain the challenges of engaging with families experiencing Ambiguous Loss

Explain the remit of Missing People in supporting families at the different stages of missing

We are able to provide a national perspective on our experience of working with professionals across the UK to draw upon nationally recognised good practice and deliver up-to-date awareness of new and evolving threats to the most vulnerable people to ensure that selected trainees are trained to provide victims with a variety of practical and support options via communication tools and return home interviews.
