How your experience and voice can be used to make changes.
We know the subject of missing, and how it impacts those away and their loved ones is a wide spanning conversation with lots of space for research and awareness raising. It’s part of our mission that every missing person is found safe, and we can only do this if we understand more about why people go missing and what support those worried about them need.
As the leading national charity in this area, we are regularly undertaking research, and working with others to better understand the issue. This important work will only benefit the one million people impacted by missing each year, if those who have lived it, are involved in it. If you have any experience of missing, please get in touch with us by email engage@missingpeople.org.uk. We need you to tell us what changes are needed to keep missing people and their families safe.
Along with talking about your experience on our Lived Experience pages, there are times when we need to ensure your voice is heard loudly. This could involve working with the media, such as a TV appearance or an article in a Newspaper. These opportunities come in on a daily basis, and if it’s something you’d be interested in doing, join our forum here and follow the Media and Research Opportunities section.
We have launched a regular email so that you can be aware of new missing person appeals and share them far and wide! We are also calling on all Heroes to be the eyes and ears for Missing People on the ground. Your sighting of a missing person could make a difference in a crucial time.
