Safe and Well Checks (Prevention Interviews) and Person-Centred Practice Train the Trainer Course – September 2025

We are now taking bookings for our new Safe and Well Checks (Prevention Interviews) and Person- Centred Practice Train the Trainer Course.

This course is for police and multi-agency professionals who want to deliver training to their teams on how to deliver effective Safe and Well Checks in line with national best practice and College of Policing principles. A Safe and Well Check is often the only support directly offered to adults following a missing episode. This course will help you ensure that your teams can deliver impactful, person-centred support to these adults as well as children who have returned from being missing.

Following this course, you will be able to:

  • Train an unlimited number of staff to engage in person-centred responses when dealing with missing children and adults.
  • Be supported by Missing People to deliver this training for up to 2 years from the date of completion, including access to slides and resources for delivery.
  • Be confident at sharing effective and person-centred practice, informed by those with lived experience and national best practice.
  • Ensure your teams are delivering Safe and Well Checks in line with College of Policing principles

Day 1: 3rd September 10am-3pm

Day 2: 4th September 10am-3pm

Day 3: 10th September 10am-1pm

Course content

You will be trained to deliver the following course content:

  • Understanding the national picture of missing
  • Why people go missing – push and pull factors including exploitation, living in care, mental health and dementia
  • Delivery of effective Safe and Well Checks to provide emotional and safeguarding support Multi-agency working for effective safeguarding and prevention
  • Working with and supporting the families of missing persons (developed in partnership with families with lived experience).

Cost

We are offering an introductory rate of £1,525 per person for this course.

Funds generated from commissioned services are put directly back into the charity, which enables us to reach, help, and support more people affected by missing.
