We can circulate covert briefings to help find a missing person 48 hours after their disappearance. After seven days, we can tailor-make a publicity appeal for a missing person, providing targeted local or national publicity which reaches out to the public for information. We can launch an immediate appeal if a missing person’s life is in danger.
We are able to offer family and friends of a missing person free and confidential emotional support via phone, text or email, telephone counselling, peer network support, and an allocated Family Support Worker.
TextSafe® is a way for us to reach out to a vulnerable missing child or adult and let them know that our confidential helpline services are available to them. We can send a TextSafe® as soon as someone has gone missing.
If you are worried that a child is being criminally or sexually exploited, our SafeCall service can support in a number of ways.
Suicide Risk TextSafe®, in partnership with Samaritans and the police is there to offer support to missing adults thought to be at high risk of suicide.
At police request, a supportive message is sent to a family member’s phone, allowing them to contact the charity confidentially via phone, text, or email for free support. This is sent from Missing People, providing an additional confidential option for assistance and support.
By joining the community, you will help us to be there online and in your local community. You will be sent emails to safely share appeals for people who are missing. It is free to join and you can unsubscribe at any time.
