Partnerships

We are delighted to welcome some new organisations and companies into the Missing People family

What have we been up to?

Listen Up New Research Report

We partnered with Listen Up to carry out important research about the experience of missing Black children and their parents.

National statistics show that Black children are disproportionately likely to go missing, with 16% of all missing children being Black compared to only 6% of the general population. Previous research has also revealed concerning disparities in the response to, and outcomes for Black children when they go missing. But this new research aims to explore Black children and their families’ lived experiences of going missing.

The focus of this research has been on hearing the voices of children and young people themselves, as well as parents of children who have been missing. Please read the report to discover the findings.

NEXT

At the beginning of the month, we joined forces with NEXT – a company known for its community spirit and commitment to giving back – to create something truly special: the August bouquet.

This bouquet involves a stunning arrangement of pink roses and fragrant rosemary sprigs in a beautiful vase. But what makes it special is that it also carries a meaningful purpose. With every sale, a portion of the proceeds will directly support Missing People’s efforts to reconnect missing individuals with their loved ones.

Thank you NEXT for your incredible support of Missing People, we are so grateful for this partnership!

Scottish Government

Thanks to the Scottish Government, Missing People has been awarded further funding for a 6th year to continue to offer free support to local areas across Scotland to implement The National Framework for Missing Persons in 2024-2025.

This means we can continue to build on our work delivering free support to police, NHS, local authorities, Education and the third sector in 16 local areas across the country, which we have been providing since 2019.

HR Dept

We partnered up with HR Dept who chose us as their charity partner for 2024. They have been supporting us for 17 years so it was an honour to be chosen this year.

During June and July, they participated in Miles for Missing, a sponsored walk to raise awareness of Lee Boxell. They were joined by his father Peter. They will be raising funds for us in other ways too.
