Without experiencing missing first-hand, it can be incredibly hard to understand why people go missing. The answer is that it will be different for many. When people return home, it can be especially challenging for them to return to any semblance of ‘normal’. In some cases, this can lead to spells of repeat missing, where the person will leave home multiple times, increasing their risk of coming in to harm.
At the end of 2022, we sat down with Jade, who bravely shred her experiences of leaving home. She discussed why she felt like going missing, the challenges she faced in life, and ultimately what convinced her to stop leaving home.
