💬 Feedback & Impact Volunteer

Help us listen, learn, and grow – so we can be a lifeline to more missing people and their loved ones.

At Missing People, we believe that every voice matters. As Feedback and Impact Volunteer, you’ll play a vital role in helping us understand the experiences of those who’ve used our services – from families of missing people to professionals we’ve worked with – so we can continue to improve, grow, and provide the best possible support.

💡 How You’ll Make a Difference:

  • Help us better understand the experiences of those who come to us for support – learning what we’re doing well and where we can improve.
  • Enable us to more clearly evidence our impact, strengthening our case for support and fundraising.
  • Provide valuable insights that help us continue to exist and evolve as a lifeline for those affected by missing.

🛠️ What You’ll Do:

  • Make sensitive outbound calls to loved ones of missing people, service users, and professionals to collect feedback.
  • Record and write up feedback using our internal systems and forms.
  • Take part in training and follow our safeguarding and confidentiality policies, keeping respect and sensitivity at the heart of everything you do.
  • Maintain clear role boundaries – this is not a support role, but a listening and learning one.
  • Report to our Head of Research and Impact.

🕒 Time Commitment:

  • 4 hours per week, between 2–6pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.
  • Minimum commitment of 6 months, due to the training investment from staff.

✅ What We’re Looking For:

  • Confidence and persistence in making calls, including cold calls — and resilience when many calls aren’t answered.
  • Strong experience and confidence using databases.
  • Good communication skills, especially over the phone, with a sensitive and respectful approach.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle data confidentially.
  • Willingness to complete a DBS check (a criminal record does not necessarily exclude you from volunteering, we will navigate that with you).
  • Full training provided.

“Missing People has never given up on Lee, or my family. Often people can’t find the right words to talk to us about our loss, so knowing that Missing People understands the pain has been a lifeline.”
