Bereavement support after a missing person is found

When a missing person is found dead, we know it is heart-breaking and shocking.

Any death is hard to deal with, but finding out that your missing loved one has died is extremely hard. You are not alone. There are people who can help you.

How we can help

We’re here to help, to listen to how you feel, and to give you time to understand what has happened.

We understand that when a missing person is found dead, it feels different to other types of grief. There will be lots of questions about their death and the missing incident, and these questions will also depend on the length of time they were missing. You might also experience some unique feelings. Some people feel relief that their loved one is no longer missing, along with a whole host of emotions which can be difficult to navigate and experience.

Talk to us

We don’t have specific bereavement services ourselves, because we know lots of expert agencies who can help in more specialist ways. But, we’re here to listen, help you to think through your questions, and to help you stay connected to the ‘missing’ community if you wish to in the future.
