Missing People and The IPG, two organisations committed to serving communities across the UK are collaborating on a new partnership to utilise the nationwide network of independent merchants to raise awareness of missing young people and help bring more children to safety.
Missing People are proud to announce a new partnership with The IPG who is supporting the charities Find Every Child campaign, an initiative that will significantly increase the reach and visibility of appeals for missing children up and down the country.
Last year, over 180,000 people were reported missing in the UK, 80,000 of which were children and young people. In partnering with The IPG; a leading membership group of independent plumbing/heating and bathroom specialists, Missing People will be able to significantly extend the reach and visibility of appeal posters. Through their network of local independent businesses, The IPG can provide a presence in over 200 communities across the UK, ensuring greater awareness of missing children in each location amongst their members, becoming extra eyes on the ground to help with the search to find them.
Missing People will work with the guidance from the police and with The IPG to ensure the appeals featured in stores are location-specific and have the latest missing children posters as new appeals start.
As part of their commitment to the partnership, The IPG have contributed collection tins which will then be sent out to all members who support the campaign as part of a fundraising pack and positioned in stores to encourage local fundraising. Members will also receive van stickers to help raise awareness of the charities activity nationwide. Missing appeal posters will be circulated on The IPG internal intranet where members will be able to download the most current appeal posters based on their specific location.
Jo Youle, CEO of Missing People said; “Thank you so much to the IPG team for supporting our campaign to Find Every Child and Missing People. This campaign will be integral in helping us extend the reach of our publicity appeals and we really hope it will play a role in reuniting missing children with their families. Your help will make a difference to children and families right across the country”
Robin Beale, Managing Director and Founder of The IPG added; “I was shocked to learn that 80,000 children go missing each year in the UK, many more than once. Every child is vulnerable, and every child deserves to get home or to have a safe place to turn for help. The IPG’s aim is to work closely with our members, local tradespeople and the charity, to make local communities aware of children who have gone missing in their area, reinforcing the great work that the Missing People charity does and their vision of bringing missing children to a place of safety or back together with their families”.
“The IPG is delighted to support Missing People, a national charity that delivers support locally throughout the UK. As a national group of local independent plumbing, bathroom and heating specialists, we are dedicated to helping our members support their local communities through our CSR programme. We’re hopeful that they can help raise awareness of missing children in their local area, as they are passionate about giving back to the local communities in which they live and work. We have a lot of exciting plans in place for the coming year so watch this space!”
This initiative forms the first of many fundraising plans for the future as both organisations look to establish a partnership that seeks to raise awareness, promote appeals for missing children and connect communities.
