Online Peer Support at Missing People

We know that it can feel isolating when someone you love goes missing, and that speaking to someone else who has been through it can really help.

Missing People are pleased to launch a pilot of its new support space for families and friends of Missing People. The link below will take you to our designated, private Facebook group, where you can connect with others who may be able to understand what you are going through and if they are comfortable, share their own experiences.

This page is moderated by Missing People, but it is not monitored on a 24/7 basis. If you are looking for immediate support from a professional, you can find this by contacting our Helpline team on 116 000.

To keep everyone safe, all group members are required to follow our Community Rules. A full version of these can be found here.

This space could be supportive to you if:

  • You are over 18 years old.
  • You have experienced a friend or family member go missing.
  • You are living in the UK, or your loved one is missing from the UK.
  • You are looking for a way to connect with other family members or friends online by commenting on posts or creating your own.
  • You already hold your own personal Facebook account and are aware that other group members will be able to see whatever profile photo and name you have linked to this account.
  • Have read through and are willing to follow the Community Rules.

A link to our online Peer Support Group will be available on this page on Monday 20th October.

You will be asked to answer some pre-joining questions before being granted access.
