What you’ll be doing

Every year, almost 160,000 children and adults go missing in the UK, impacting over a million people.

Missing People is the only UK charity dedicated to supporting missing people, and their loved ones. Our mission is to be a lifeline when someone disappears.

We are looking for a proactive, independent and communicative volunteer to join our Corporate Partnerships team. In this strategic research role, you will help identify new corporate prospects and foundations that align with our values and could support Missing People through funding, partnerships, or Charity of the Year initiatives.

Your work will directly contribute to expanding our reach and securing vital funds from the corporate sector- helping us continue to be there for missing people and their loved ones in their darkest moments.

Qualities/Experience/Skills needed

No previous experience of charity fundraising is required. If you enjoy research, connecting information, using LinkedIn and working independently, this role will be perfect for you. You will also need to have:

  • Interest in Missing People’s work
  • Strong IT skills including confidence with LinkedIn, search engines, emails and spreadsheets
  • Confidence making phone calls when needed
  • Attention to detail, handling data securely
  • A methodical, proactive approach
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative

Location and availability

This role will be worked from home – access to a laptop or computer, and Wi-Fi required.

If you’re based in or near London, you are welcome to work from our quiet office in Mortlake, Southwest London.

Commitment: 4 hours per week, on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, for a period of 3+ months.
