This International Missing Children’s Day, we at Missing People are focussing on the issue of mental health.
Over 70,000 young people are reported missing each year, with 20% of those interviewed by Missing People disclosing information about mental health issues. On 25 May we want to highlight the effect mental health can have on why someone goes missing, and how you can support children and young people across the UK who are missing, or at risk of going missing.
Thank you for getting involved this year and helping us to make a real difference to families with a missing child.
This pack contains information and statistics, suggested text for your social media posts, and key things to consider ahead of the day. Get involved and make an impact today!

Help us support young people in crisis and their families. Watch Tom’s story to learn how donations from as little as £3 can help.
It can be a very difficult conversation to have if you suspect a young person is dealing with mental health conditions. With the support of those with lived experience, we’ve put together a toolkit to help you understand if a young person you know has serious medical conditions, and how they can be supported.
We have launched a regular email so that you can be aware of new missing person appeals and share them far and wide! We are also calling on all Heroes to be the eyes and ears for Missing People on the ground. Your sighting of a missing person could make a difference in a crucial time.
