SafeCall – Supporting Young People affected by County Lines / Child Criminal Exploitation

Missing People has been contracted by the Home Office to provide the SafeCall service to young people, parents, carers, family members and professionals. SafeCall is a national helpline and support service for individuals who have been affected by the issues of County Lines, Child Criminal Exploitation and Missing.

SafeCall have created a series of webinars aimed at sharing knowledge with and providing advice to professionals about these issues, their impact, and introducing the SafeCall service and how we can help professionals, young people and families in your area.

Agenda

This 1-hour session is designed to inform professionals through the following agenda:

  • Introducing the SafeCall service, who the service is for and the different types of support offered
  • Signs and Indicators of grooming and exploitation and an overview of County Lines current themes and trends
  • Understanding the impacts and needs of children and young people who have been affected by County Lines/child criminal exploitation
  • Discussion around how SafeCall can support young people and families in your area, this will involve the use of case studies and feedback from those who have accessed the service
  • Our messaging – How to signpost or make a referral into the service for a young person who you are working with
  • Missing People’s services – overview of young people’s support services offered by Missing People

Who should attend?

This virtual session has been designed for professionals working with anyone who has experienced/been affected by the issues of Missing, Child Criminal Exploitation or County Lines.
