Members of the CMC include providers of Return Interviews (RHIs), both from the third sector and from local authorities. The coalition was interested in understanding more about how return interviews are being delivered nationally, and what barriers there are to effective provision.
Missing People, on behalf of the CMC, sent out two Freedom of Information (FoI) requests to every local authority in England. An analysis of the responses to those requests can be found in two reports, the first focusing on the delivery of all return interviews, the second specifically considering their delivery for looked after children who are placed outside of their home local authority area.
These reports were produced when the CMC was known by its previous name the ‘ECRC’. The research only considers the provision of Return Home Interviews in England as that was previously the group’s remit.
