Family Day is a special opportunity for people with lived experience of missing a loved one to come together in a safe and supportive space. It’s a chance to connect with others who understand.

This year’s event theme was about togetherness and wellbeing. The day began with a mindfulness session, led by a trained practitioner to help everyone ground themselves and find a moment of peace. Families also enjoyed professional massages, offering a rare moment of relaxation and self-care for many. Later, the Missing People Choir gave a moving performance, a powerful reminder of the solidarity that binds our community together.

One of the highlights was creating a collaborative piece titled ‘Village of Memories’. Each family member wrote special memories inside hand-drawn houses, building a symbolic village that captured the lasting love and cherished stories of those who are missing. Earlier this year, in March, we organised our first-ever ‘Light the Way’ campaign. Walks of different distances took place across the country to show solidarity with people who have a missing loved one and raise vital funds for them.

Our very own Missing People staff and volunteers organised a 5KM walk in Richmond Park to show their support for families and communities affected. Our corporate partners from across the transport industry also delivered their own walk, passing through well-known London train stations.

Families who have experience of a loved one going missing joined this campaign too, organising their own walk in their local area to raise awareness.
