The following has been written by Claire Croucher, mother of Leah, who went missing in 2019 and was sadly later found deceased.
Missing People supported us when our daughter Leah Croucher went missing in 2019.
In 2022 her remains were found. She had been subjected to a sexual assault and then murdered.
As a family we were shocked to discover that there are no mandatory sentence guidelines for these types of crime.
That’s why we have launched a petition asking the government to consider implementing one.
We have a number of MP’S willing to take our plea to the House of Commons. We only need 100,000 signatures to help us achieve this.
However, the more people that sign, the stronger our request will be felt. Please sign our petition, then share far and wide.
Help us to keep your daughters, sisters, nieces and mothers safe in ways that our daughter wasn’t.
